Projects
Here are some personal projects and experiments—some are active, some are retired, and all have taught me something (sometimes what not to do).
Community Involvement
ATXDevOps
CommunityATXDevOps is a community of technologists in Austin, Texas. We run meetups and workshops about DevOps, cloud, and automation. I help out where I can and enjoy learning from the group (and occasionally I consider giving a talk that makes sense).
In Development
Stalwart
DevelopmentStalwart is a tool for discovering resources across cloud providers (starting with GCP). It’s in alpha, so it’s mostly a playground for learning about cloud APIs and inventory challenges. MIT licensed, and will be public when it’s less embarrassing.
Workhorse
DevelopmentWorkhorse is an AWS inventory tool in Go. It maps resources and outputs XLSX files, which is more exciting than it sounds (at least to me). Still a work in progress, but useful for cloud audits and migrations. It’ll be public when I no longer feel embarrassed by the code (so, you know, someday).
Released Projects
RepoMigrate
ReleasedRepoMigrate is a powerful Go-based tool for effortless Git repository migration with complete history preservation. It preserves all commits, authors, branches, tags, and references, making it ideal for migrating repositories between GitHub, GitLab, and other Git hosting services.
FlvrBot
ReleasedFlvrBot is a versatile Discord bot I developed as a personal project, drawing inspiration from BLBot. It began as a fun experiment to enhance Discord server experiences while giving me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of bot development, APIs, and containerization.
watip.io
Releasedwatip.io is a minimalist site that shows your IP address—no ads, no bloat, just your IP. Built for speed and simplicity. Source code here.
Retired Projects
TuskShield
RetiredTuskShield was an AI-powered moderation tool built for Universeodon.com, one of the larger Mastodon instances. The project was designed to combat the growing problem of spam, scams, and malicious actors that plague decentralized social media platforms. I collaborated closely with Byron Miller on this initiative, combining our technical expertise to create an automated solution for content moderation.
Woot Tracker
RetiredWoot-Tracker.com was my first big project, back in the early 2000s. It tracked Woot.com deals in real time, which was a big deal for bargain hunters. The site is long gone, but it taught me a lot about web development (and staying up late for server outages).
